:: Way of working

Mattmo does not believe pre-sets. Every project is handled with the approach specifically needed for that kind of project. As we believe in personal interaction there is open communication between our customers and us. That is way it is important to describe each project carefully. In order to do this Mattmo developed a way of working with the following steps.
  1. Briefing by the client
The client clarifies the project, indicating all wishes, possibilities and impossibilities. In this meeting all relevant disciplines of Mattmo are represented.
  2. Debriefing by Mattmo
Mattmo summarises the briefing in writing and sends it to the client for any comments and asks for signed approval by fax.
  3. Offering and budget outline
Mattmo sends a clear offer in which all project activities are summarised and budgeted per category. This offer shows an indication of costs for the complete project with the exception of additional costs like third party costs (e.g. printers, couriers, travelling expenses, freelancers, etc.) that may need further specification. All costs for third parties are always offered to the clients and only after formal approval production is started.
  4. Acceptance and start project
After the client has accepted the offer in writing the project is started and Mattmo makes a detailed planning.
  5. Planning
In the planning all phases are presented in greater detail in conformity with the offer. A presentation and correction round after which the client signs for approval conclude every phase; only then the next phase is started.

The production process can be divided into three phases:

    • Pre-Production
    • Production
    • Post-Production
  6. Pre-Production
Pre-Production consists of briefing, debriefing, returning of the approved debriefing and the offering.
  7. Production
This phase starts after the client has formally accepted the offer.
The project team is composed and a working document is written, describing the project, its goals, the target groups, the items that need to be produced (for print) and if necessary a flow chart.
An inventory is made of all media available and a brief market analysis. After this a creative rationale is written that results in a concept.
In the production phases a number of client presentations are included. Thus the client can follow the process and engage when necessary.
Mattmo always works from an unambiguous concept and builds it from there. We do not believe in presenting multiple plans; there can only be one sublime plan. Mattmo always starts from a broad basis to work towards a superior design.
  8. Post-Production
Dependent on the project and the media chosen (Internet, print, video, CD or CDROM, etc.) in this phase all means are taken into production. Mattmo does in-house production and works with a number of regular partners (printers, CD production companies, producers of in-store materials, freelancers, etc.). This enables us to offers competitive prices. All costs for third parties are always offered to the clients and only after formal approval production is started.
Mattmo controls the final check on all products. This can vary from a pre-/post print check to elaborate tests on CD-ROM productions.
  9. Drukwerk
